Nukote Containment Lining

Project Details

This project was completed under the services of Kiewit for a major oil company in Alberta using Nukote Coating Systems. Stray Cat Industrial was approached by a large oil and gas producer to supply a solution for their secondary containment needs. We provided the lining for a recovered bitumen tank overflow sump with primary and secondary containment areas. The client’s consultant specified a membrane on concrete that was resistant to chemicals, yet flexible enough to move with concrete even in extreme cold conditions.

All new concrete was abrasive blasted and Nukote HLT applied to seal the concrete. A 100% solids epoxy patching compound was used for bug holes. Fast set Nukote Polyprime II was applied as a primer to facilitate quick turnaround at low temperatures. Nukote ST Polyurea was immediately applied at a minimum thickness of 2mm.
