Stray Cat are pleased to pioneer an innovative new approach waste water lining projects.  Working in conjunction with industry leading manufacturers, Stray Cat are installers of two component lining systems.   These systems provide a structural cementitious liner, with a protective epoxy topcoat.  Stray Cat are able to offer both of these services, from a single supplier.

Key benefits include:

• Rapid installation.  The cementitious liner can be installed directly to cleaned substrate.
• Optimum adhesion with the epoxy top coat is achieved – The epoxy topcoat is applied directly onto the still wet mortar, without the need for any surface preparation or priming.
• By removing surface preparation and priming, this vastly reduces the timescale to complete lining projects. This is also ideal in situations where surface preparation, and removal of associated waste material would otherwise present a significant logistical challenge.
• Remote Spin Casting Capability – Stray Cats advanced application equipment allows us to remotely apply both cementitious and epoxy coats.  This is a highly efficient and safe approach for coating application to tunnels and manhole shafts.
• Design Life of 50 years+ – Composite lining systems are designed with long term service in mind, and carry a manufacturer certified design life.

Chemical Grouting

Stray Cat is trained and experienced in preventing water intrusion and infiltration through crack injection and curtain (backwall) grouting, and we are one of the only companies in Western Canada with current acrylamide grouting experience. Crack injection involves injecting, into the leaking crack or joint, a resin such as polyurethane that reacts to moisture by creating a strong seal that will move with any future movement of the structure. In curtain or backwall grouting, holes are drilled through the structure and grout is injected into the soil surrounding it, creating a gel/soil matrix that protects the structure by preventing water from getting to it in the future. Acrylamide grout, used in curtain grouting, has the same viscosity as water, and thus can permeate anywhere water travels and cures within a controllable time frame. Once cured, it creates an effective and long-lasting water barrier, while providing superb soil stabilization. These technologies have wide application in mining, transportation (tunnels/subways), water and wastewater treatment, construction, and industry.

Tank Linings and Coatings

Stray Cat’s tank linings are resistant to most chemicals and industrial liquids. With a fast application and the ability to adhere to properly prepared substrates, they have many advantages. Our coatings protect against corrosion, chemicals and other weather and job site activities extending the life of older and newer tanks and can be applied quickly during primary construction or in a retrofit significantly reducing downtime costs compared to competing materials.

Concrete Protection

We carry and apply a complete line of high performance coatings to substantially reduce long term maintenance expenses and extending the time frame for replacement of the protective coatings system. Our systems protect and waterproof  the concrete substrate providing protection from the most onerous domestic and industrial waste chemistries.

Bridge, Rail and Tunnel Coatings

Our bridge, rail and tunnel coatings outlast paint and fight off corrosion. They are common on bridges over steel  and  concrete and are specified for bridge, deck and structure coatings by state DOT’s across the USA.
